1. HbIM = benzimidazole) as a precursor and furfuryl alcohol (FA) as an optional carbon source (Gong et al., 2018) for highly selective adsorption and separation of Xe and Kr. In this work, they prepared a series of ZIF-derived nanoporous carbons (Z11CB-700, Z11CB-800, Z11CB-900, Z11CB-1000, Z11CB-1100, Z11CBF-1000-1, Z11CBF-1000-2 and Z11CBF-1000-3) used in the sequestration of Xe and Kr. According to Gong and co-workers, [Zn (bIM) 2] (ZIF-11) was chosen because of its unique framework structure and high carbon content. Moreover, FA as a secondary carbon source is particularly attractive due to its small molecular size, liquid form at room temperature and mild polymerization conditions (Gong et al., 2018). SEM micrographs and TEM analysis showed that the as-prepared ZIF-11-derived nanoporous carbon had regular morphology and ordered pore structure;ZIF
