First person – Thomas Williams

Abstract

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Thomas Williams is first author on ‘ Distinct TORC1 signalling branches regulate Adc17 proteasome assembly chaperone expression’, published in JCS. Thomas conducted the research described in this article while a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in Dr Adrien Rousseau's lab at the MRC-PPU, School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee, UK. He is now a PDRA in the lab of Prof. Pedro Carvalho at Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford, UK. Thomas is interested in the mechanisms cells use to adapt to changes in their environment, encompassing changes to intracellular signaling, proteome composition and cell physiology.
