Abstract
Slow, valuable, and need-oriented production and consumption have been replaced by profit and purpose-oriented overproduction and consumption today. Traditional and healthy production has turned into a fast, unhealthy, and profit purposed production. Food has become a hedonic pleasure and status tool for consumers. Commodified food is explained by the concept of food porn in the literature. In this chapter, food porn history and the socio-cultural and economic reasons that cause the commodification of the food phenomenon were explained first, and then the concept of food porn was explained with its dimensions.
