Abstract
Today, it is well-known that all individuals may experience and related to the nature of the job; however, these may sometimes be challenges that woman face due to their biological characteristics. Mostly dominated by female employees, the tourism industry has longer and more tiresome working hours, has seasonal employment relationships, requires less educated and qualified labor compared to the other industries, and has lower unionization and labor contract rates. The jobs in the tourism industry are defined as man's and woman's jobs, and services, such as cleaning, laundry, making up bed, guest greeting, and cooking similar to domestic chores, are performed by women. These challenges have a direct impact on operational efficiency and functioning, along with the status of women in tourism employment, is important for improving female employment in tourism. A holistic analysis was made in this chapter based on national and international literature on the challenges female employees face in the tourism industry.
