Abstract
The aim of this chapter will be to analyse how the main colonial powers deployed, at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, different propaganda strategies with the aim of convincing their populations that the colonial adventure was the solution to their internal problems. In addition, it is intended to deepen the knowledge, on the one hand of the forms and methods used by the different European states to transmit colonial values and disseminate their colonial discourse and, on the other, to analyse how the different populations of the metropolises reacted to the fact that his country had colonies in overseas territories, in his various responses of consent, protest, or resigned acceptance, as well as the attempts to carry out anti-colonial actions by some European leftist parties.
