Abstract
Health systems are highly integrated organizations with complex inner workings that require efficient operational processes to succeed. The value of health systems is that they treat patients, support the treatment of patients, and ensure the information about the health and care of those patients is distributed throughout the system. Within a crisis, health systems are stressed operationally, and it takes a direct focus and strategic plan to ensure every aspect of the health data and value output is accounted for appropriately. This focus can be summarized across strategy for operations, understanding health service as a product, prioritizing health care staff and planning, and understanding how to execute an efficient business continuity plan.
