Architecture, Framework, and Models for Edge-AI in Healthcare

Abstract

Information technologies have drastically changed the medical management and the way healthcare services are approached worldwide. The wide diffusion and combination of cloud computing, smart medical sensors, and internet of things have been explored to deliver intelligent and smart systems intended to speed up the diagnosis of health-related problems and treatment. The chapter represents a short review of healthcare solutions, from initial health monitoring systems to latest trends in edge-AI computing for smart medical assistance. Further, sustainable development goals (SDGs) are discussed along with their importance in improving health of individuals. A framework for smart systems to monitor the availability and efficient use of resources to achieve sustainability is presented in the chapter. The smart system analyses the data from smart devices and medical sensors and identifies the problem areas that can help clinicians in taking immediate action to avoid the health-related incidents.
