Abstract
The Tiretti bazaar in Kolkata has its history from the 18th century when immigrants from China settled there. The place is famous for the early morning Chinese breakfast with makeshift tables serving spring rolls, steamed buns, dumplings, and wontons. Post India's independence and after the Sino-India conflict of 1962, the community was affected severely. After breakfast, the area is used as a parking lot for the offices nearby and the community retracts. The study includes a qualitative approach of netnography and interviews with the diners at Tiretti Bazaar to understand their Chinese food experience. The findings of the study will help the policymakers to ponder upon the Chinese food culture which is slowly diminishing and has been in Kolkata for centuries.
