Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed various facets of contemporary society, and the impact on youth is particularly profound. The chapter will delve into the impact of AI on social interaction and identity formation among youth. Social media platforms powered by AI algorithms have revolutionized the way young people connect, communicate, and express themselves, shaping not only their social interactions but also their sense of self and identity. Furthermore, the chapter will explore the ethical implications of AI for youth, examining questions of privacy, autonomy, and agency in an increasingly data-driven world. With AI systems capable of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting vast amounts of personal data, concerns about surveillance, manipulation, and control loom large, raising profound questions about the rights and freedoms of young people in the digital age.
