Abstract
In this digital era, fears about cybercrime and digital terrorism are rising. A coordinated effort will be required to keep ahead of the threat as the world grows more digitally connected. The threat posed by cybercrime and digital terrorism to people, businesses, and countries is increasing. An overview of the several types of cybercrime and digital terrorism, such as online fraud, identity theft, hacking, and cyberstalking. The accelerated attack surfaces in 5G networks, driven by reduced latency and increased data speeds, empower cybercriminals with the ability to deploy sophisticated attacks at unprecedented rates. This necessitates a paradigm shift in cybersecurity strategies to effectively detect, respond to, and mitigate threats in real-time within this dynamic and fast-paced digital landscape. The chapter follows up with an examination of the field's present and potential trends as well as the significance of creating strong defenses against cybercrime and cyberterrorism.
