Abstract
This chapter explores the methodology of mixed methods research (MMR), which integrates both qualitative and quantitative approaches within a single study or sequential studies to address complex research questions. The chapter outlines the definition, rationale, and various design types of MMR, emphasizing the method's ability to provide a comprehensive understanding by balancing the depth of qualitative insights with the breadth of quantitative analysis. Challenges such as methodological integration, logistical demands, and maintaining coherence across disparate data types are discussed, alongside the potential for increased validity and holistic understanding.
