Abstract

The core principle of inclusive education asserts that all students, irrespective of difficulties, should learn together in an environment with maximum accessibility to resources and support tailored to their needs. Globally, concerns persist regarding individuals facing barriers to learning, limiting their participation in regular educational and social experiences. This includes marginalized students with mild to profound learning impairments, necessitating additional intervention strategies. Despite the global endorsement of inclusive education policies, its implementation remains uneven. The Salamanca Declaration in 1994 advocates accommodating all students, irrespective of their conditions. This chapter aims to contribute to quality inclusive education by discussing relevant support mechanisms and strategies for fostering the inclusion of students with barriers to learning.
