Abstract
This chapter explores an introductory design course for architectural education, emphasizing the importance of transcending conventional standards and embracing uncertainty. Rooted in objectivism and existentialism, it encourages students to question assumptions and explore beyond the visible. Through a semester's experience of carefully curated assignments and iterative processes, it displays how design principles are culminated in the synthesis of accumulated knowledge into visionary design solutions. It highlights the transformative journey of preparing students to navigate the complexities of creative challenges and contribute meaningfully to the design profession. Through comprehensive exploration of curriculum development and student learning experiences, it offers insights into the interplay between theoretical principles and practical application in design education, providing practical implications for educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers aiming to foster the next generation of creative thinkers and innovative problem solvers in design and architecture.
