Powerful Women in Business

Abstract

Although the current situation of women in the workforce differs from country to country, fundamental problems remain, especially in underdeveloped and developing countries. Considering the importance of the issue, the aim of this study is to share the success stories of businesswomen operating in different sectors in Turkey. Within the framework of the research, the data collected through semi-structured interviews from five successful female professionals from different sectors were evaluated and conclusions were drawn. According to the findings of the research, the common characteristics of successful female employees in business life are ambition, diligence, perseverance, discipline, curiosity, planning, and dedication to work. It was observed that the participating women received social support, particularly from their spouses, to ensure a good work-life balance. Although women who were focused on success in business faced difficulties in business due to family life from time to time, they were able to overcome these difficulties and achieve success.
