Abstract
In overpopulated nations, the need for medical treatment is increasing along with the population; healthcare difficulties are becoming more common. The population's need for high-quality care is growing despite decreasing treatment costs. An internet of things (IoT) network is a group of hardware and software components, including sensors, gadgets, appliances, and software, that can share data and information among themselves without the assistance of a human. IoT benefits healthcare by enabling remote patient monitoring, telemedicine, medication management, resource optimization, infection control, and more. IoT is crucial in healthcare for remote monitoring, timely interventions, cost reduction, and data-driven care, ultimately improving patient outcomes and healthcare system efficiency. Nowadays, much advancement is taking place in the field of IoT especially in healthcare monitoring. Some of them are wearable IoT-enabled real-time health monitoring system, real-time remote health monitoring system driven by 5G MEC-IoT, which are further discussed in this chapter.
