Abstract
According to recent reports, the global connected medical device market is expected to grow by 22% and reach $181.9 billion by 2030. The increasing use of networks to connect medical devices has improved healthcare capabilities, but it has also introduced significant cyber security vulnerabilities. Personal medical devices play a crucial role in monitoring and treating heart disease, diabetes, chronic pain, hearing loss, and sleep apnea. However, the vulnerabilities pose a growing threat to patient life safety, data confidentiality, and the integrity and availability of critical medical information. Therefore, it is important to take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of medical devices and the critical patient data they carry.
