Abstract
This chapter introduces the impact of decision-making bias on health behavior. It begins by explaining health as a natural phenomenon and its level of causality. It then explains the various determinants of health issues, followed by the cognitive errors in decision-making. Various biases involving errors in decision-making are also provided. Multiple debiasing strategies are outlined, each designed to counteract types of cognitive biases. Further, a discussion is done on the intervention of artificial intelligence (AI) and human intelligence to build a more effective approach to mitigate biased decisions among healthcare professionals.
