Abstract

Healthcare is undergoing a rapid transformation due to the advancement of various technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, and telemedicine. These technologies offer numerous benefits and challenges for healthcare delivery, management, and research. This chapter aims to explore the impact of these technologies on healthcare leadership and identify the key competencies and strategies that healthcare leaders need to develop and adopt to thrive in the digital era. The chapter reviews the literature on the current and future trends of technology adoption in healthcare, the opportunities and challenges they pose for healthcare leaders, and the best practices and recommendations for effective healthcare leadership in the age of technology. This chapter will add to the existing body of literature on leadership in healthcare by shedding light on the pivotal role that leadership plays in implementing emerging technologies in healthcare.
