Abstract
This study examines the impact of the internet on India's tourism and hospitality sectors, focusing on how digital advancements have transformed operations, customer experiences, and market dynamics. The research will involve a literature review, interviews with industry experts, and data analysis to identify challenges and opportunities. Key impacts include online booking systems, digital marketing, customer reviews, and IoT and AI integration. These advancements have improved customer satisfaction, personalised services, and operational efficiencies. However, challenges like regulatory hurdles and cybersecurity concerns need to be addressed. Social media platforms and mobile applications have transformed the marketing and delivery of tourism and hospitality services in India, leading to increased competition and innovation. This chapter offers an in-depth assessment of the impact of internet-based tools and services on India's tourism and hospitality sectors, focusing on technological evolution, tourist experiences, and government initiatives like the digital India programme.
