Abstract

Diversity brings in different perspectives and helps to strengthen the quality of decision-making. Hence, diversity is of importance at all levels of organizations. With effective diversity management, organizations are better equipped to capitalize on the potential of their employees, increasing performance and productivity. Historically, diverse organizations outperform their competitors because their employees have different competencies, including cross-cultural abilities that help develop a sense of belonging. Hence, they are more likely to be committed to the organization. Employees feel more confident and comfortable in their roles when diversity is embraced and respected, improving productivity and satisfaction. Further, organizations open to a diverse workforce can draw from a larger talent pool, leading to better decision-making and increased innovation. Hence, adopting a qualitative approach with an in-depth literature review, this chapter discusses diversity management strategies for enhancing organizational performance.
