Abstract

The objectives of this chapter are multifaceted and directed towards a comprehensive understanding of Earth's land cover and environmental changes. First and foremost, the aim is to provide accurate and reliable land cover mapping of the Earth's surface, ensuring that the information is timely and comprehensive, thereby facilitating a better grasp of environmental transformations. Furthermore, a key objective is to enhance our knowledge of climate change and its far-reaching impacts, with a specific focus on improving the precision of monitoring the natural environment and habitats. In addition to this, the study aims to investigate and analyze the patterns of land use change and the associated impacts on the environment. This involves a thorough examination of the resources involved and the repercussions resulting from alterations in land cover. Moreover, the objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding of areas with significant environmental vulnerability, pinpointing regions that are particularly sensitive to environmental changes.
