Abstract

The market for artificial intelligence (AI) in the hospitality industry is expected to expand from $0.09 billion in 2023 to $0.15 billion in 2024, representing a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 58.6 per cent, according to the artificial intelligence (AI) in Hospitality Global Market Report 2024. The growth is seen because of various factors like the demand for increasing the customer experience, adopting Chabot's, customization of AI in travel, and use of advanced analysis to address on-the-floor issues. The chapter will start with the journey of the use of technology in various departments to the incorporation of AI in today's world. This will show how the hospitality industry is moving from a human-centric sector to an automated one. The chapter will briefly explain the key departments of the industry and the shift it has seen in terms of automation when dealing with customers or when handling back-of-the-house operations. The aim is also to understand how AI is impacting various hotel industry departments and how customers have responded to it.
