Abstract

Today the internet of things (IoT) has witnessed significant advancements in recent years, revolutionizing the way we interact with technology and our surroundings. This work provides a summary of the recent advances in IoT, including concepts, protocols, and applications. The concept of IoT revolves around connecting various physical devices and objects to the internet, enabling them to communicate, share data, and perform intelligent actions. In terms of concepts, recent advances have emphasized the integration of IoT with other emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and edge computing. Further few important IoT protocols are discussed in this work. Note that these protocols enable seamless communication between IoT devices, gateways, and cloud platforms, facilitating the exchange of data and commands.
