Abstract

Research indicates that entrepreneurial self-efficacy, gained through entrepreneurship education in higher learning institutions (HLIs), is crucial for fostering long-term job creators by developing students' entrepreneurial knowledge, ability, and attitude. Besides, entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) also serves as a critical antecedent and the strongest predictor of entrepreneurial intention (EI) among HLI students. Therefore, this study focuses on investigating the impact of ESE on EI among Universiti Teknologi Malaysia's undergraduates. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a questionnaire, data from 212 respondents were analyzed using SPSS for descriptive and regression analysis. Findings reveal that students perceive their ESE and EI at a medium level. Additionally, the study emphasizes the significant role of ESE in influencing students' EI. The results hold relevance for HLIs, policymakers, and academicians, stressing the importance of nurturing ESE to cultivate future entrepreneurs.
