Abstract
This chapter investigated the dynamics of studies on preventive dentistry in the digital age from 1983-2023. The search for relevant studies took place on 14/03/2024. The search strategy used was “oral health” AND “preventive dentistry” OR “digital dentistry” OR “digital oral health”. In order to prevent duplication, 2,000 results from 1983-2023 were considered for the analysis. The findings indicated that there is linear progression of number of publications in every five years from 1983-2023. Similarly, many researchers from different countries participated in international collaborations making clusters to the extent some countries could not be situated in a particular cluster because of their robust participations. Furthermore, there are many networks of terminology forming clusters. It is evident that preventive dentistry is an emerging field with digital technologies finding their ways exponentially in an ever-increasing pattern for accurate therapy, diagnosis, treatment, and improved patient care.
