Abstract
Energy plays a key role in the progress and sustainability of modern economies and societies. To achieve sustainable development goals, energy resources must be accessed in a timely, sustainable, cost-effective, and stable manner in line with economic developments and environmental needs. Türkiye faces a number of challenges in ensuring sustainable energy supply security due to its geopolitical location, increasing energy demand, and high dependence on energy imports. To this end, this study addresses Türkiye's strategic goals, challenges, and opportunities in the context of sustainable energy security. The obtained findings indicate that Türkiye has recently taken important steps towards achieving sustainable energy security. However, to achieve these goals, there is a need to focus more on the harmony of decision-makers and sector representatives, consistency in energy and environmental policies, increasing renewable energy investments, and energy efficiency.
