combinations was assessed by means of a point-to-the-picture task administered to young normal-hearing and hearing-impaired children. Four perceptual strategies were available. Hearing-impaired children performed in a manner that was different quantitatively and qualitatively from normal-hearing children. Results suggest that various sources of ambiguity affect the strategies used by the hearing-impaired children and cause them to be less stable than those employed by normal-hearing children.
