Abstract

Finding location for visually challenged people around the campus is difficult task and also detecting the obstacles for visually challenged people needs assistance. Based on the persistent requirements, navigation system is provided to the physically challenged employees, students or guests. The technology adopted in this work is visually challenged mobile device. The mobile device is enhanced with Radio Frequency Identification reader and tags, voice recognition and text to speech using Wi-Fi. It locates the visually challenged people by using GPS even though the internet connection is not available. RFID tag is placed within the campus path through Wi-Fi routers, which will be helpful to predict the location within the campus. The system adopts a text to speech and voice recognition to communicate with blind people to move forward to reach their destination within the campus without any help for anyone unless the situation is in emergency. This proposed system will be helpful for those people who were in needy when they were inside the campus.
