The desertification in Northwest China is serious, and the transmission tower has been affected by dust storms. To investigate the harm of wind-sand load on transmission towers, the paper takes the dry-type transmission tower as the research object and uses ANSYS software to study the dynamic characteristics. The wind and sand loads are coupled and su-perimposed by MATLAB software. The dynamic characteristics of transmission towers under different wind load and sand load conditions are studied. The results show that the horizontal offset and the overall stress of the tower will increase under wind-sand coupling load, which makes the tower stability worse.
