Direct ethanol fuel cell (DEFC) has the advantages of low pollution emissions, easy to carry, and high energy density. However, the development of fuel cells is limited due to the low catalytic activity and poor stability of electrode catalyst materials. Precious metal aerogels not only have three-dimensional self-supporting network structures but also have excellent properties of precious metals, which have very good catalytic efficiency for ethanol. In this study, bimetallic aerogels with varying Au/Pd ratios were prepared, and their impact on the electrocatalytic performance of ethanol was investigated.
