Abstract
Abstract
Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is used in various applications because of its unique chemical and physical properties, including biocompatibility and low toxicity. In this study, we successfully prepared ethanol solution-based hollow-core β-carotenoid PVP fibers using high-pressure carbon dioxide (CO2) at 5 MPa and 318 K ambient temperature, a polymer solution at 333 K, an 8-cm tip-to-collector distance, and DC voltage of 15 kV. In this study, the morphological and physical properties of the electrospun products were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) scanning spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
