Abstract
Abstract
Due to the limited areas suitable for use for the agricultural production needs in the North Caucasus region, a promising direction is the development, for the cultivation of fruit crops, slope lands characterized by favourable soil and climatic conditions. At the same time, the most effective method of developing slope lands is terracing. Among the variety of different ways of maintaining soil in gardens, in terraced gardening, in order to minimize soil erosion processes, as well as provide plants with moisture and the required nutrients, a sod-humus system is used, which provides for mowing vegetation growing in the aisle and near-trunk strip for mulch. The design features of the terraces impose restrictions on the agricultural units working conditions, among the many of which it is necessary to highlight the possibility of approaching the row line for processing plants from only one side. The designs of mowers currently used in industrial horticulture, for the complete removal of vegetation from the near-trunk strip, require the passage of the unit along each side of the row line, which cannot be provided in terraced gardening conditions. Based on the foregoing, the development of a new design of a mower for mowing vegetation in the near-trunk strip, as well as in the zone of the near-trunk circle, which allows maintaining and increasing soil fertility on slope lands, is relevant in the conditions of mountain and foothill gardening in the Central part of the North Caucasus.
