Abstract
Helical coiled double and triple walled carbon nanotubes (CNTS) were synthesized using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method using FeMoMgO catalyst. The FeMoMgO catalyst was prepared using combustion process followed by multi walled CNTs synthesize. The final products were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR, SEM, TEM and FESEM (surface morphology) along with electron dispersion X-ray spectrometer (EDX). The XRD results show that Fe is well incorporated with Mg which indicates crystalline in nature. FT-IR, results confirm the presence of functional group and metal ion. FESEM indicates the formation of larger and non-uniform particles with higher active sites. SEM and TEM results show that at low temperature coiled CNTs were formed with 2-5nm in diameter. In conclusion that Helical coiled double and triple walled CNTs were synthesized using FeMoMgO Catalyst at low temperature.
