Abstract

Abstract The distributor hydraulic efficiency is very important for a Pelton turbine. In order to improve the turbine efficiency and the jet flow stability from the injector, it’s necessary to optimize the design of the distributor. In this paper, the flow behaviors and the hydraulic efficiency of a model Pelton turbine distributor with and without six-nozzle domain were conducted numerically. Comparison of numerical simulation results of different cases with different boundary condition settings and domain was analyzed. The predicted results show that the results of the distributor with six-nozzle domain are agree well with the measured results and the hydraulic performances is quite different from other cases.
