Abstract
The paper deals with the exact solutions of the Einstein’s field equations in various cosmo-logical models based on Lyra’s geometry: (i) Bianchi type III cosmological model in a perfect fluid by considering the Equation of State (EoS) of the type p = αρ
2 − ρ, where α > 0 is constant (ii) Spatially flat FRW model with constant deceleration parameter q and time dependent displacement field vector β for the specific choice of particle creation function (iii) FRW model with variable β and time dependent q. The conditions for attaining an accelerated power-law expansion of the universe in the matter dominated era have also been discussed.
