Abstract
Abstract
Power generation through PV is a promising alternative energy source for meeting power demand as it is environmentally friendly, abundantly available, and has alternative characteristics. In power generation through photovoltaic, multilevel inverters are vital in the conversion of power. The primary objective of this paper is analysing the cascaded half-bridge multilevel inverter (CHMLI) at different load conditions. The secondary objective of this paper aims to implement the CHMLI for a photovoltaic system and to observe the proposed system can able to export the generated PV power to the load. To extract maximum power from the solar source, a Perturb and Observe (P & O) implemented on conventional boost converter. MATLAB/Simulink presents the performance of the proposed converter in terms of reduced component count, THD, and performance of the converter with solar PV under various irradiation conditions.
