Abstract
Abstract
Thermodynamic adsorption parameters of aniline monomer on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with polyethylene glycol (PEG) were investigated. The standard affinity (-Δμ0
) decreased when the number of methylene in PEG increased testing from PEG200 to PEG800. According to the changes of the enthalpy (ΔH0
) and entropy (ΔS0
), it is found that the aniline molecules embedded into the PET substrates more strongly when adsorbed with lower molecular weight of PEG, but caused more randomness of the PET fibers. After polymerization, the PANI/PET fabric displayed favourable electrical conductivity and the surface specific conductivity (ρs
) reduced to 1.14 × 103Ω. However, the conductivity of PANI/PET fabric was reduced significantly because of the presence of PEG and lower concentration of adsorption solution.
