Abstract

Highlights The process-formability-microstructure-performance relationship in additively manufactured Mg and its alloys was reviewed. The underlying mechanisms behind defect formation, microstructure evolution and performance improvement were discussed. A full chain development from raw materials to equipment and process was emphasized.
