Abstract

Significance Ultrasensitive low-temperature magnetic noise experiments on a network of atomic spins reveal how anomalous “glassy” dynamics can arise in a topological magnet, even in the absence of disorder. The results uncover an interplay of local dynamics with emergent topological degrees of freedom and a frustration-generated imperfectly flat energy landscape, and as such, they point to intriguing cooperative and memory effects for a broad class of magnetic materials.
