Abstract
SUMMARYThe effect of the presence of rams upon the blood LH levels of ewes just at the start of the breeding season has been studied. It was found that there was a large and sudden increase in LH levels of ewes exposed to rams when compared to a control group. There were also small but non-significant effects on the mean date of the start of the breeding season and upon the number of lambs born.
