Abstract

AbstractPhilometra kobuleji(Nematoda: Philometridae) is described as a new species from the abdominal cavity of a North American freshwater fish, Catostomits commersoni.During a parasitological survey on stream fishes of Southern Ontario, males and females of aPhilometraspecies were collected from white suckers,Catostomus commersoni(Laédpéde). This parasite differs from all knownPhilometraspecies recorded by Hoffman (1967) in North America.
