Abstract
Areal reduction factors on short time and space intervals have been studied from an experimental 9 raingages network, covering 400 hectares approximatively. During the three years recording period, 51 events have been analysed for time intervals ranging from 5 minutes to 4 hours. Results have shown that mean rainfall intensities should not be considered as uniformly distributed over areas ranging 100 to 400 hectares. They have also shown that rainfall areal distributions are significantly depending on time and space intervals to be considered, regarding to the network used.
