Abstract
SUMMARY
The incorporation pattern of tritiated oestradiol from 2 min. to 16 hr. after intravenous injection was studied in tissues either responsive or non-responsive to oestrogens. The reactive tissues, such as uterus, vagina and liver, differ from the non-reactive in their capacity to incorporate more steroid and retain significantly higher levels for at least 16 hr. Some differences were also observed between the early incorporation patterns of tritiated oestrone and oestradiol in these responsive tissues. Oestrone disappeared more rapidly from the uterus and in the liver reached higher levels than oestradiol.
