Abstract
From Clavariadelphus pistillaris and several Ramaria species a bitter substance, pistillarin, has been isolated which is responsible for the green colour reaction of the fruit-bodies with FeCl3. Its structure has been determined as N1,N8-bis(3,4-dihydroxybenzoyl)spermidine (1).
