Abstract
Single crystals of Ba9Cu7O15Cl2 were prepared and investigated by X-ray diffraction methods. They crystallize with hexagonal symmetry (a =1125.7; c = 585.3 pm, Space group D6h
2-P6/mmm). Cu2+ has the well-known square O2--coordination. The squares are connected to rings of 6-fold symmetry. Another Cu2+ has a so for unknown coordination of 12 O2--neighbours. The differences in respect of other oxohalogenocuprates are discussed.
