Abstract
In the present age of digitalization, storage of huge amounts of data and accessing it through devices at multiple locations has become an integral part of functioning of various systems. QR codes allow storage of huge amounts of information in an extremely concise matrix system comprising of black squares arranged on a white background grid. Use of QR codes in esteemed medical hospitals for patient management is already prevalent, but their utilization by dental practitioners and institutions is quite limited. QR codes can be effectively employed in various aspects of dentistry which could drastically improve the quality of oral healthcare provided to the patients. The present article discusses various possible utilities of QR codes in different aspects of dental practice and academics.
