Abstract
Mycena margarita, a widespread agaric in the Caribbean region and recently recognized as frequently bioluminescent, is reported for the first time in Brazil, occurring on decaying wood in the Araripe National Forest, municipality of Crato, Ceará state. This species is fully described and illustrated and accompanied by color photographs of fresh basidiomata. Comments on the taxonomy and ecology of the species are presented.
