Abstract
Background: A hamartoma is mostly a benign mass of disorganized tissue native to a particular
anatomical location. Most hamartomas are usually benign. Nevus lipomatosus cutaneous supercialis
(NLCS) is a rare hamartoma of mature adipose tissue. To study the clinical and histopathologi Aim and Objective: cal features
of 9 patients with NLCS. A retrospective analysis of clinical data and histopathological ndi Method: ngs in 9 cases of NLCS in
our Hospital between 2017 to 2021. Demographic and clinical data were obtained from the clinical case les. Slides and tissue
blocks were retrieved. H&E and Masson's trichrome and reticulin stained slides were studied in all cases. We identied Results:
9 patients with NLCS (solitary 7 and classical 2) in this series, of whom 5 were males and 4 females. The average age at
diagnosis was 53.4 years. The most common location was the lower part of the body. Most of the cases were diagnosed as skin
papilloma before skin biopsy. Surgical excision was effective in all patients and on follow up no recurrence was observed.
Conclusion: Awareness of NLCS among Clinicians is important .Histopathology is conrmatory for diagnosis
